Pronounced HA'vull . . . .

. . . the Havill surname is quite uncommon in America.  I have found many Havel's, DeHavilland's and a few other variations.  As far as I been able to find out, our family's name was at one time "DeHavilland", but when my great-grandfather immigrated, it was truncated to Havill.
