Page 3: Laws and Legalities Now this is a topic that will bore you to death. Talk about cruel and unusual punishment! This discussion on hunting laws will concentrate on California laws. "Why?", you ask. Well, Kalifornia is about as anti-hunting as you can get. I cannot think of any other state that is as tough to go hunting, and or exist as hunter in as California is. Besides that, I live in California and am intimate with these laws. What do I expect you to get from all this legal stuff? Simply put - it is tough to hunt in California. Whether it be abiding the laws, finding huntable areas, or just getting there. First thing you need to be aware of is that you cannot just go shoot a duck or a deer anytime you want. You need to have a license. To get that license, you need to go through a State mandated Hunter's Safety Course. I have detailed that process on another portion of this website (click here). Now you need to figure out what you are going to hunt. In fact, you should have figured this out before getting your hunting license. As a hunter, you need a purpose. Do you enjoy the fast action of Upland Game Birds, or the slow stalk of large game animals? Regardless, there are a bunch of laws that determine the following:
Which leads us to the laws on
hunting. (still working - under construction)
